The Champagne Brunch showcases the imagination and culinary talents
of Chef Jim and his staff. This is not your usual brunch buffet! Our
signature item is our chef-smoked fish and cheeses served with
a side of horseradish sauce. If you like that smoked taste, you can't
get enough of this! The hot and cold buffet tables are laden with an
astonishing array of items.
Weather permitting, the cold buffet is displayed on the open upper deck for you to nibble and sample during the first part of the cruise while you take in the gorgeous scenery. When called, you'll partake of the hot buffet down below in the dining room. Dessert can be enjoyed either in the dining room or on the upper deck. We like to give you as much opportunity to be outside as possible.
This happened on a Brunch cruise last fall but there was a lot of interest among our guests. One couple who usually comes on dinner cruises and always orders shrimp cocktails booked the brunch cruise but asked if they could order shrimp cocktails for brunch. Chef Jim said sure since they had ordered in advance. Well! The buzz was considerable. Others asked if they could order a shrimp cocktail in the future. Chef Jim says it's no problem as long as you order before Sat noon. 4 jumbo shrimp per order. $13 per order! The plate described above had 12 jumbo shrimp on it, red sauce, white horseradish sauce spider web lines on a black plate. Stunning! No wonder there was buzz!
The Cold Buffet has featured:
Chef-smoked cheddar, provolone & swiss cheeses with side of horseradish sauce and smoked salmon with side of dill/horseradish sauce. Fresh fruit platter. Bread basket with sweet rolls, doughnuts, quick bread or muffins and flavored butters
The Hot Buffet may include:
Chef-smoked slab bacon, sausage links, eggs of the day and certified Angus Prime Rib of Beef at the carving station. Belgian waffles made to order served w/ maple butter & NYS maple
syrup. Seafood Newburg with rice. Plus One other protein and one carbohydrate
or veggie.
The beverage server will bring you your choice of juices, coffee, tea or decaf and, of course, as many Bloody Marys or Mimosas as you desire.
Dessert is served by our wait staff and runs the gamut from flourless chocolate torte drizzled with raspberry sauce and fresh whipped cream to lemon bars to strawberries Romanoff to brownies a la mode or whatever else Chef Jim imagines!
