In July, 2013, Pam Miller and her friend biked to Raquette Lake from a local campground. They happened upon the Durant just as we were boarding a luncheon cruise. What a serendipitous opportunity! There was space in the dining room. Only trouble was Pam and her friend hadn’t brought any money with them and they were reluctant to leave their expensive bikes out in the open. Captain Dean to the rescue! He suggested they store their bikes in the nearby Chapel and come on the luncheon cruise with a promise to pay us later when they got back to their wallets. Guess what? They did pay us later! In fact, Captain Dean’s trust and neighborliness made such an impression on them they returned in July, 2014, this time for dinner .
“My friends and I returned for your dinner cruise on July 10, 2014 and had a wonderful time. The food and service were both excellent, yet done on a friendly, personal basis. Thank you for two great Adirondack experiences. We shall return again in the future!
